Miloš Vystrčil is a Czech Politician from the Civic Democratic Party (ODS) and President of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, a role he has held since 2020. He has been a member of the Senate since 2010, representing Jihlava Region, and is the Chair of the Committee on Agenda and Procedure and of the Sub-Committee on Bestowing Decorations. From 2014 to 2022, he was Deputy Chairman of the Civic Democratic Party (ODS). Originally from Telč, Vystrčil studied mathematics and physics at Masaryk University in Brno. Before becoming a politician, he was a teacher and later vice principal at Otokar Březina Grammar School and Secondary Vocational School in Telč. He remained involved in education as an academic at the College of Polytechnics in Jihlava from 2009 to 2021. Prior to joining the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, Vystrčil served as Telč’s mayor from 1998 to 2001, as Statutory Deputy Governor of Jihlavský Region (now Vysočina Region) between 2000 and 2004, and as governor of the Vysočina Region from 2004 to 2008.
